As oil and gas companies continue to grow in order to meet energy demand, it provides a great opportunity for G4S in this sector, a long-term sustainable opportunity for the company.

Easy oil is no longer available and unfortunately we have to look for those reserves in some very remote and challenging areas of our planet.

G4S approach will be a global approach. Oil and gas operators will benefit from having a global partner that has significant local capabilities and can deliver according to the local needs.

Today we have significant relationships with International and National Oil and Gas operators, engineering firms, and oilfield services companies. However as we see an opportunity for us to take a more holistic solutions approach to the sector, we will be looking for opportunities to integrate best in class intelligence together with a good understanding of risk assessment and mitigation, combined with best in class technologies and guarding services.

There are several types of technologies that the industry will benefit from. For example we are expanding in technologies for pipeline monitoring security side of the business, and look at how do we integrate some of these technologies with the manned guarding activities that we currently have today.

The opportunity in the sector provides G4S with long-term sustainable growth.

An example is as the energy industry looking at Iraq, as a great opportunity to find, to explore and produce oil and gas, G4S has significant capabilities in that country that enables the oil and gas sector to come in and effectively have access to those reserves. Other examples are some of the large LNG facilities that are currently in the development phase and construction phase. Some of those facilities will continue to require significant amounts of security access, either being a terminal offshore or being a, a pipeline that is developing some of those, some of those fields. So we see great opportunities this year for G4S. It’s a great industry and we’ll see tremendous amount of benefit for sustainable growth for the company going forward.
